The Millstone…

Friday, August 19th, 2005 by CarbonCopy

The crew at the deli is starting to shape up with some pretty strong people. One is new and the other is just gaining the experience he needs to work effectively in the kitchen. Good people. They will be fine when I leave…

When. That is the question, isn’t it?

I’ve had another interview at a very upscale hotel. Upscale as in Presidential. I totally screwed myself in that interview, in hindsight. Hindsight is always 20-20, isn’t it. When I do well, I almost always get the job, or at least a good call back with advice or good words. When I do poorly, I see it on their face as I leave.

I applied to a few other things, but not a single call back for an interview. I think I need to be a little more aggressive, for starters.

I am only one facet of my own life. Julie and I have been trying (well, sort of allowing - we want it) to get pregnant. The problem is, if we do, we will financially screw ourselves if we don’t sock a little money away first. At least enough to make ends meet during her maternity leave. We currently have a lot of debt hanging over our heads, and it scares the hell out of us both.

If this website didn’t cost less than two cups of coffee a month, it wouldn’t be here.
