My Windows XP instal decided not to validate as genuine the other day.

It’s been running for almost two years with very few problems.

I nuked, paved and reinstalled, with the hope it was just a bad file or something. No dice…

Then, I started poking around with the M$ support pages on the matter. Sorry…

Yup, I even tried reinitializing the serial number. No soup for you!!!

I then checked into the “Complimentary Replacement” offer for people who have been ripped by software vendors. I might just qualify.

So much for a cheap copy of Windows…
