Delays…
Wednesday, September 11th, 2002 by CarbonCopyFirst off, if there is anyone out there following this blog, I am sorry for the delay in updates. I am a very, very, very bad blogger. There is no excuse, save being very busy, going to San Francisco and getting mugged — well, sort of. It’s a long story, still kind of fuzzy to me, so I’ll skip the experience.
Anyway. San Francisco. With a couple minor exceptions, it sucked. It sucked so hard, it could give the vacuum of space a run for its’ money.
The highlights:
- Chinese food. I’ve had much better in Seattle.
- In-city transit is very cool and cheap. I like the world’s largest roller coaster — the San Francisco Cable Car system.
- Alcatraz is interesting, but better left to the movies.
- I dislike boats and hate flying even more so.
- Amoeba Records is the largest music shop I have ever seen. Think modern grocery store, but just music and a few videos.
- The Goth scene is actually smaller than Seattle’s, but what is there is typically better over-all. Especially the Death Guild (thanks Joe Radio for the details on some of the stuff you were playing).
- Stay away from Market & 6th street, see above for details.
All said and done, Julie and I could not wait to get home, and I was actually at ease and thankful in getting on the plane. We got to the SFO several hours early, and managed to get on a flight two and a half hours early from our originally scheduled flight.
Anyway, until next time.
